When my mind split open
A fault line was revealed
I saw the rift
And saw weakness
Something broken in need of fixing
To pull the two halves back together closing the space between
Returning to the way I was
But not all the strength in the world
Not all the work and planning
Can move the earth back together once it has decided to split
It will never be as it was
A fault line engraved so deep underneath the shine of my surface
A rocky, dark abys
That transformed into my greatest gift
I had to split in order to grow
I had to break to expand my space
To not close the darkness
But build over it
Instead of closing space to return to the original size of what I was
I was expanding
Filling the space that had been given to me
Not closing it once again
To not return to who I was
But forced to mine my chasm
Discovering the gold and jewels that lay beneath its surface
Treasure I would never have known
Unless there was a quake that led to my fault line
My fault line that became my lifeline.
